Cosmetic Excision of Benign Breast Lumps
Fibroadenomas are benign (non-cancerous) breast tumors common in young women. They present as firm, smooth, rubbery lumps that move easily under the skin. While they do not increase the risk of breast cancer, they can grow over time, causing breast asymmetry, tenderness, or anxiety, making surgical excision the preferred option.
Our Aesthetic Excision Technique
Dr. Jadhav utilizes specialized cosmetic incisions to preserve breast shape and minimize visible scarring:
- Periareolar Incision: Placing the incision along the dark border of the nipple (areola), where it blends naturally.
- Sub-Mammary Incision: Placing the incision in the crease under the breast, hiding any future scar completely.
- Precision Dissection: Gently dissecting the fibroadenoma while preserving all surrounding healthy glandular tissue.
- Biopsy Verification: The excised lump is always sent for histopathology examination to confirm the benign status and provide absolute peace of mind.
